Accessibility

Last updated October 12, 2026

We want trashtech.org to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced motion settings. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML with headings, landmarks and labeled form fields.
  • Visible keyboard focus on every interactive element and a skip link to the main content.
  • Color contrast checked for text, and our bright safety orange used for shapes rather than small text.
  • Animations that stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Decorative illustrations hidden from assistive technology so they don’t add noise.

We build to the same standard for clients, which matters for municipal and public works teams with accessibility requirements.
